Mary Jean Wakefield

Mary Jean Wakefield brings 20+ year of application programming experience to the table, with the last 12 years in Higher Education at Eastern CT State University, Connecticut’s Public Liberal Arts University. Ms. Wakefield primary focus is in the development and support of the Banner Student module and is the Project Lead for the Ad Astra implementation, testing, training and deployment. As part of Eastern’s long standing partnership with Ad Astra, Ms. Wakefield has been a key contributor in the development of the Astra Platinum Analytics and Academic Planner Banner CAPP integration. Most recently she has taken on the role of Astra Schedule VII beta tester, as Eastern plans their migration from Astra Schedule 6 to version VII. A successful implementation of a robust room scheduling and event management system will meet the university’s strategic initiative goals for event orchestration. There is great need to improve retention and graduation rates and we are striving to bring analytics to the forefront of academic planning here at Eastern.
